My decorating business is getting as many phonecalls asking for cheap bedroom makeover ideas these days as we used to get for projects where the entire room is completely re-decorated. When people are in a financial pinch, they need to make the most of what they have already in place. I'm sure this trend will end when people manage to decrease their credit card balances but for right now, recycling is cool.

For instance if they are shopping for a new comforter set rather than completely paint the bedroom they do their best to find a bedding collection in colors that will work well with their existing wall paint. I have no problem with this at all and kind of look at it as a challenge and have been amazed at the difference in the room's atmosphere without touching another thing!

You spend no money and everything looks fresh and clean because there's no way that you aren't going to dust the surfaces after they are empty of decorations, is there?

And if rearranging just doesn't do it for you, you might consider replacing some of the artwork on the walls or buying just one or two inexpensive items to give your spirits as well as the decor a lift.
